Henry Howard, The Earl of Surrey.
My husband commissioned Mr. Eolo Testi to create a Historical Portrait Doll.
Inspired by a print and Hans Holbein the Younger's sketch.
My husband provided photographs of his face,
so Mr. Testi could carefully carve his likeness from clay.
Then Mr. Testi painted the face and inserted glass eyes.
All the details were lovingly realized, including a real metal dagger.
Even the codpiece was delicately adorned with tiny "pearls".
The Earl is rather flashy, wearing bright red stockings and velvet footwear.
This museum quality portrait doll stands 26 inches tall.
The Earl of Surrey next to Puss 'n' Boots for size comparison.
